New Muc-Off sales team

Leading motorcycle care brand Muc-Off is now offering independent bike retailers the opportunity to open direct accounts. “Our Dealer Direct programme will transform how independent retailers can benefit from stocking Muc-Off products and will include a wide range of incentives as well as access to products and promotions historically limited to specialist retailers,” explains chief executive Alex Trimnell.

The Dealer Direct programme is split into three tiers with varying levels of support available, depending on the degree of collaboration to which retailers are willing to commit. At the top are Ambassador Stores, with benefits including extended credit terms, stock rotation to avoid clearance, and even free product for staff. They will also be the first stores to receive new products when they launch.

Ross Copsey heads up the new UK sales team within Muc-Off. “I grew up using Muc-Off products on my bike,” he told BDN. “So being able to drive new and exciting products to solve the problems that people face when maintaining their bikes is super rewarding. I love visiting our dealer network and talking to the shop staff to understand their challenges to ensure we can support them as their business evolves.”

Copsey is joined by Peter Downes, who is managing the Midlands and the North. He’s also a fan of the brand: “I’ve always used Muc-Off products, so when the opportunity came about to join the team, it was a no-brainer. There is always a warm welcome when I visit dealers we work with, and the Dealer Direct programme has only reinforced this. Going direct to dealer gives our stores increased margins, support, education and ultimately, they’ll be putting more money through their tills.”

John Bradley and Tom Dudley complete the in-house dealer development team, looking after the Southeast and Channel Islands regions, while covering marketing, point of sale, and much more. For more information, contact 01202 307799 or [email protected].

Punk Award
Muc-Off picked up a gong at the recent Design and Innovation Awards 2022, taking honours with its Punk Powder, the world’s first plastic-free bike cleaner. The biodegradable product comes in powder form that’s easily mixed with water by the end user. That saves on transport and packaging costs, while cutting plastic bottle waste. The firm also offers a recyclable aluminium “Bottle for Life” to use with the powder, which claims to perform as well as traditional liquid cleaners. Clever, clean stuff.
