HomeNEWSPrices to remain strong

Prices to remain strong

Used motorcycle demand continues to be buoyant, with long lead times on new machines. This is making one to two-year-old examples a popular choice, and these machines in particular are selling at elevated prices. However, used demand generally remains strong across the board.

Stock supply continues to be a challenge with rapid sales turnover, increasing the need for dealers to be even more proactive in sourcing stock from all corners of the country. The biggest shortfall in the market is Japanese 125cc scooters, which are particularly sought after.

Most dealers report stock levels to be lower than they would like, but expect an improvement throughout March as part exchanges become more plentiful.

We are now firmly into spring and, with the clocks also having moved forward at the end of March, daylight hours continue to rapidly increase, encouraging people to get outside and ride more. This, along with ongoing stock related issues, leads Glass’s to expect market prices for motorcycles to remain strong across the majority of segments in the coming weeks.
