PUTOLINE DISTRIBUTION JOINS PDG

Netherlands-based Powersports Distribution Group (PDG) has purchased the entire share capital of Putoline Distribution, also known as Neo Distribution, further strengthening PDG’s position as a national distributor of motorcycle parts and accessories in the UK.

This latest takeover follows the PDG acquisition of Bradbury Brothers and Rob Hunter in 2019. That combined company now trades as Hoco Parts UK from its Huddersfield facility.

Putoline Distribution was bought by John and Sally Hayden in 2004. While keeping a focus on exclusive distribution of Putoline motorcycle lubricants, Action air filters and maintenance products, they later added other lines, which include Roof helmets and Kappa luggage, accessories and helmets. It now has a combined sales staff of 13 serving more than 1000 trade customers around the UK. The company is located near Peterborough.

Commenting on the transaction, directors John and Sally Hayden said: “We look forward to working together with our staff under the umbrella of PDG. We are very happy that we have been able to conclude this deal, even in these times of uncertainty. This a great opportunity for us. It will strengthen the position of all our brands and help us to offer an even greater service to our existing UK dealer base.”

PDG chief executive Tom Beyers added: “We are very pleased to welcome Neo Distribution to the group and we look forward to further developing the company together with John and Sally. The acquisition is an important step in the further development of our UK platform, which we are actively expanding with a well-filled mergers and acquisitions pipeline still ahead of us.”

Powersport Distribution Group is a leading European business distributing motorcycle parts and accessories, headquartered at Breda in the Netherlands. It currently has three divisions.

Hoco Parts is an aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories distributor in the Benelux countries, France, Denmark and the UK. DC AFAM supplies transmission and battery brands such as AFAM, Nitro and Shido, to European motorcycle parts distributors. CMS is the leading global distributor of vintage Japanese motorcycle parts.

PDG is majority-owned by private equity firm Torqx Capital Partners.
