QUADS INN BUSTED FOR DANGEROUS LIDS

Nantwich-based Quads Inn, a mail-order purveyor of quad, motorcycle and motocross accessories, has been heavily fined for selling sub-standard helmets after a prosecution by Cheshire Trading Standards.

Hough Mill Developments – the company behind Quads Inn – was convicted of three counts of selling unsafe goods. It was fined a total of £15,000 for the offences and £25,000 in costs. Hough Mill Developments director Roydon Wiggins was also fined £1200 with £25,000 costs after being personally convicted of three counts of selling the defective helmets.

Quads Inn’s Qtech-branded lids came to the attention of Cheshire East Council Trading Standards after a female scooter rider was involved in a low-speed road accident and her helmet shattered upon impact.
