Spurs fan scores with successful charity bid

Former garage owner – and long-time Tottenham Hotspur fan – Harish Madhani attended his first ever BEN ball at the Grosvenor House hotel in London recently and left as owner of a new Kawasaki J300 scooter.

Donated to the night’s charity auction by Kawasaki Motors UK, the scooter was the first of its type in the UK and caught the RMIF consultant’s attention as soon as he set eyes on it.

“Even as I was walking down the stairs to our table I said to my partner, ‘I like that scooter and I think I will bid on it’,” commented Harish.
A good natured and sometimes covert bidding process then unfolded with the 48 year old, who now spends much of his time working as a consultant for the Independent Garage Association, finally winning through.

“I’ve only been riding two wheelers for four years,” explained Harish. “Scooters are great for getting around London and ideal for parking almost right outside Spurs when I take my son to see home games.”

BEN is the Motor Industries’ Benevolent Fund.
