Swansea-based distributor Tri-Motive is to close, possibly as soon as 31st July 2020, with the loss of 18 jobs.
Parent company Oxford Products Ltd (OPL) has said: “Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on many businesses in the UK and, indeed, across the world. Our business is not immune to these challenges. Oxford has provided very significant support to Tri-Motive – both before and during the pandemic – but we do not envisage that the situation will improve significantly in the near future. The difficult decision has therefore been taken to close the business operations in Swansea”.
Tri-Motive will continue to operate as it has done during lockdown – with a skeleton staff taking and despatching orders as normal and all finance functions fully operational ,until at least the end of July.
Customers and suppliers can therefore continue to contact the offices as usual and they will be will be contacted well before the end of July with further information, including details on the future availability of products and brands currently carried by Tri-Motive.
It is envisaged that some stock will be acquired by OPL and a couple of Tri-Motive brands will be sold by OPL sales staff alongside their existing portfolio.
Tri-Motive’s existing brands include ARMR, Dojo and Eleveit apparel and boots, plus helmets from MT, Vemar, Simpson and Momo.
