TT ATTENDANCE UP AGAIN

The Isle of Man Steam Packet ferry line has reported another rise in traffic for this year’s TT festival. About 36,500 return-trip passengers travelled on its ships from UK and Irish ports during the period, a 2.8% increase. The number of motorcycles carried was 6% up, to more than 14,000. That figure doesn’t include a substantial additional volume of bikes brought to the Island in vans or on trailers.

According to Steam Packet chief executive Mark Woodward, his company has enjoyed a big boost in TT ticket sales for 2018 too. A record high of over 5000 advance ferry bookings were made when the system went live at the end of May.

TT 2017 passenger flight data from Manx airport Ronaldsway is awaited.
