Venhill holds custom contests

Brake hose and clutch cable manufacturer Venhill is running a Project Bike 2017 competition for anyone fascinated by the world of custom motorcycles, whether choppers, streetfighters or cafe racers.

Round two closes on 30 June and the winner will receive a Venhill Workshop cable kit, torque wrench (metric or fractional), and Vampire Vacuum Pump Brake Bleed Set, with a total value well over £300.

An overall champion, chosen from the winners of each round (there are four in total), will receive a trophy and “lots of other goodies”. Entries should be made via Venhill’s Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Venhill sponsored Practical Sportsbikes magazine’s Special Build of the Year 2017 competition, which culminated at the MCN Festival of Motorcycling in May. It was the second consecutive year the company has supported the contest and MD Max Adams (pictured left) presented the winning builder – Des Lindsey (centre) – with his award and a cheque for £1000. His bike – a Yamaha RD500LC built as a replica of Kenny Roberts’ 1980 OW48 YZR500 – was voted the best home-built special by readers of the magazine, chosen from a shortlist of 10 finalists.
