It’s hard to think of an area of the bike trade which has had as much change thrust upon it as the motorcycle media. While much of the industry is doing essentially the same things it used to – selling new and used bikes and kit, perhaps manufacturing bikes or parts, running training schools, selling insurance – the bike media world has undergone tremendous change. Today’s landscape of TikTok influencers, live TT coverage on mobile phones, owner forums, Facebook groups, Instagram celebrities and YouTube channels would have looked like science fiction back in the mid-1990s. And while all those innovations have had an effect across the bike trade, their impact on the media organisations has been far more profound…
