Yamaha launches approved used bike scheme

An approved used bike scheme is a big asset for a bike brand and its dealers. Used bikes can be sold at a premium since buyers have an extra level of confidence in the quality of the machine, backed up by the manufacturer’s seal of approval.
And now Yamaha is joining BMW and Triumph with its own scheme, dubbed YOU Certified Pre-Owned – YOU, standing for ‘Yamaha Offers You’.

The new scheme looks like a good one for customers: it promises a full mileage investigation, a check to see if there is any outstanding financeon the bike, and that it’s not been stolen or written off by an insurance company. Dealers will also carry out a quality check on the bike itself, and it will come with a 12-month warranty and roadside assistance package. Yamaha is also advertising the certified machines centrally via its own website: cpo.yamaha-motor.co.uk/gb/home.

Andy Pumfrey, divisional manager, at Yamaha Motor UK said: “The introduction of our new Certified Pre-Owned platform gives customers a one stop shop to search for their approved used Yamaha motorcycle or scooter, where they can see all of the UK franchised dealer stock in one place. The platform has been designed with an easy to use search function, enabling customers to view by model type and location. This means it has never been easier to find a used Yamaha with the added peace of mind that each bike has been quality checked and comes with a year’s warranty and roadside assistance.”
