Zero paramedics

LONDON’s ambulance service has just unveiled a £16.6m fleet of new green vehicles – including three new Zero SR/S electric fast response paramedic motorbikes. Supplied by Surrey-based dealer Spark Motos, the new bikes have been converted to emergency services spec by Woodway Engineering, with a high-vis sticker kit, hard luggage, lights and sirens installed.

Paramedic Richard Webb-Stevens has been riding one of the new Zeros, and told us how it performs. “I absolutely love it. It does everything you need as a paramedic responding to incidents and emergency calls. It’s responsive, it’s quick (when you need it to be) and feels very safe. I think some keen motorbike riders might be a bit sceptical about losing the traditional petrol engine, but I can tell you, this bike is fantastic!”
