Avon Spirit ST

class=”p1″>Avon Tyres has launched a new flagship addition to its range of sport-touring tyres, the Spirit ST.

The Spirit ST is the successor to the Storm 3D range, which will continue to be available as a budget option, and Avon claims that the new tyre provides excellent wet grip and handling.

Based on an all-new carcass construction design, the tyre has a new tread pattern said to clear more water and 3D sipes (thin slits in the rubber that allow the tyre to warm up quicker). The front version is single compound, wheas the rear features new high-silica synthetic rubber multiple compounds – a harder centre strip for extend use without squaring off and softer edges for improved cornering grip.
