Bimota, now wholly owned by Kawasaki, doesn’t release new bikes very often, so the launch of the KB399 is something of an event. Powered by a four cylinder, 399cc motor shared by Kawasaki’s ZX-4RR, the KB399 is the smallest capacity model to leave the Rimini factory for more than three decades. It shares the basic chassis of the ZX-4RR but has revised Showa suspension – 41mm SFF-BP forks and a BFRC Lite rear shock to go with the Italian designed bodywork and billet triple-clamps. Those wanting to go a bit further can opt for the Edizione Speciale version, which gets a carbon fibre cowling, billet footpegs and pedals, clip-on bars and an upgrade to an Ohlins rear shock. Obviously it comes in traditional Bimota red, white and black livery, with a signature red frame, at £10,099 for the standard version, £14,699 for the ES.
