bikers flock to showroom opening

Between 300 and 400 bikers attended an open day to celebrate a new 4000sq.ft showroom at Bournemouth Bikes.

Owner Mike Lawrence was more than happy with the turnout. “It has been a superb event and a fantastic day, with perfect weather. We weren’t sure how many people would turn up but there’s been a constant flow of visitors since 10am. I reckon we have seen between three and four hundred people since then.

“Our aim was purely to increase brand awareness for Bournemouth Bikes and enjoy the occasion… we’ve succeeded on both counts.”

British Superbike championship rider Michael Laverty spent the day – 22 April – chatting with visitors, signing autographs, having photos taken alongside a McAMS Yamaha replica race bike and generally being an all-round nice guy.

As an extra treat there was also the chance to see the British-built Moto2-inspired team Quattro Spirit GP Sport bike and meet team owner Tony Scott. The new Euro 4 range from Sinnis Motorcycles, Mutt Motorcycles and new-for-2017 Bullit Motorcycles were on display along with the range of motorcycle oils and additives from Liqui-Moly.

The Sega “Manx TT Superbike” racing arcade game had riders competing for the fastest lap times to win the prize of a trophy and a bottle of champagne.
