Classic machines and fresh attractions take centre stage at MCL

The Motorcycle Live NEC show is just around the corner, and the organisers have been busy preparing a brace of new attractions. First up is a new classic bike display, organised in association with Classic Bike magazine and The Moulsdale Foundation. The Moulsdale Foundation, based in Bishopbriggs near Glasgow, is a charitable foundation and collection that houses more than 400 motorcycles and 300 cars. MCL arranged for Mike Armitage (above), editor of Classic Bike, to spend a day exploring the exhibits to handpick his top 12. His selections range from a high-mileage Honda MBX80 to Kawasaki’s iconic GPZ750 Turbo, along with a Suzuki RG500, Foggy Petronas FP1, Mike Hailwood replica Ducati, and seven other interesting machines. They’ll be on show every day at the NEC on a special display stand.

Owners of other special machines can also enter a new competition at Motorcycle Live. The Show & Shine event gives fans the chance to show off their own two-wheeled treasures. Organisers are searching for the 10 best bikes to take centre stage in Hall 4, where the public will vote on the machines. The first prize will be the inaugural MCL Best in Show Trophy. Full details on how to enter the Show & Shine competition are available at: www.motorcyclelive.co.uk, along with information on tickets, events, exhibitors, and more.

The show runs from 21-29 November, and reduced-price trade tickets are available for qualifying motorcycle industry businesses.
