CONSUMER TITLES STILL BLEEDING READERS

Sales of Bauer Media’s print motorcycling publication portfolio continued to plunge in 2018, according to Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) data.

Flagship tabloid newspaper MCN fell by 6.6% to an average weekly total of 56,839 copies, its rate of attrition slowing from 8.8% down in the previous year.

Market-leading monthly Bike lost 6.3% to 35,098. Classic Bike dropped by 8.8% to 30,646 and RiDE sank by 9% to 29,434.

Practical Sportsbikes, which has since been “merged” with now-defunct Performance Bikes, plummeted by 13.1% to 15,678. Bauer has delisted the latter from ABC, so its swansong figures for 2018 are unavailable.
