dealership and e-bike win awards

Martin Marshall’s Ecosse Motorcycles of Dundee and Aberdeen has been voted Best Multi-Franchised Dealer for Scotland and the North by readers of Motor Cycle News.

“We can’t quite believe this but we, as a company, have won this coveted award,” Marshall said on Facebook. “We can’t thank you all enough for your support!

“To say I am chuffed to bits is an understatement! I just want to say that it would never have been possible without a  brilliant bunch of customers and  some wonderful suppliers and manufacturers. However, the real praise should go to my incredibly dedicated team at both Ecosse showrooms! Thanks to each and every one of you for making Ecosse Motorcycles just that wee bit more special.. We are not perfect but we do try!”

In a separate category of the same awards, Zero Motorcycles beat off stiff competition to win the title Electric Bike of the Year for its SR/F. Judges called the SR/F “the genesis of a new generation of electric bikes” before adding “it is a real-life road bike that works, not some long-promised unicorn. You could buy an SR/F today, with a warranty, from a growing number of dealerships across Britain. And if you did, you’d own the very best electric motorcycle of 2019.”
The Zero SR/F represents a completely new platform for Zero, with a new Z-Force motor delivering 190Nm of torque and a top speed of 124mph, a 14.4kWh battery, sophisticated Bosch electronics, the new Cypher III operating system and a scalable charging system that can recharge the battery to 95% in an hour.
Dale Robinson, Zero’s UK country manager, accepted the award and commented: “The SR/F marks a major step forward in the evolution of electric motorcycles, at what is an exciting time for the industry. This summer we’ve been out on the road giving British motorcyclists an opportunity to try out the SR/F at demo days and the feedback has been almost universally positive. With the SR/F we’ve been able to bring the incredible torque and performance offered by electric powertrains and package it in a top quality sportsbike chassis, with class leading electronics and the possibility of charging to 95% in just an hour.
“This past year has seen a number of the traditional manufacturers announce that they are developing electric motorcycles of their own, and we’ve seen the introduction of the MotoE race series. Bikes like the Zero SR/F prove that electric motorcycles are not just the future but are the here and now for an increasing number of riders, and we’re delighted that MCN has recognised the SR/F as leading the way in this new generation of motorcycles.”
Earlier this year, the Zero SR/F won’s Best Electric Motorcycle of 2019 and has earned positive reviews from publications around the world.
Zero Motorcycles has 16 dealerships in the UK and Ireland, each having demo bikes available for prospective buyers to try out.
