Salop Motor Club (SMC) has scheduled the 2020 Hawkstone International – one of the UK’s biggest attended motocross events – for 9 February. The organisers waited for the final GP calendar to be released and are looking forward to another successful event. The new title sponsors are Ashbrook [plant hire], Hazport [hazardous waste transport and disposal] and Tysers Insurance.
It is hoped several GP stars will attend the season-opening event, with names being announced over the coming months. Entries will open soon for the MX1 and MX2 classes and for 2020 we have the EMX 125 class.
The Hawkstone International, to be held at the Hawkstone Park Motocross track near Shrewsbury SY4 4NA, will give fans an opportunity to see some of the world’s best riders. “This is a prime opportunity to see new teams, new riders and some of the best racers in the world battle against each other at one of the most famous MX circuits,” say event secretary Gary Ford. “The enormous turnout of spectators, together with all the top teams preparing for their long seasons ahead, makes the now traditional season opener in the UK a must on anyone’s calendar.”
