JONES TO HEAD UP MOTONOVO

Specialist bank Aldermore has recruited Richard Jones as managing director of its Cardiff-based MotoNovo Finance motorcycle and vehicle POS funding arm. Jones will join Aldermore in early 2023 from Lloyds Banking Group, where he has been chief executive of Lloyds’ market-leading Black Horse Motor Finance and Lex Autolease businesses since 2018.

A graduate of Sheffield Business School, Jones is a qualified chartered management accountant too. His long and varied career at Lloyds spanned a range of senior roles across its insurance division, where he was an executive director from 2010 to 2015. During that time he led a number of areas, including Life Assurance, Individual and Corporate Pensions, Investments and Retirement Planning.

Subsequently promoted to take charge of the combined Lloyds motor businesses after first successfully running Black Horse from 2015 onwards, Jones also became chairman of the Finance & Leasing Association from 2016 to 2021.

Commenting on his appointment, Aldermore chief executive Steven Cooper said: “Having run the UK’s largest motor finance business for a number of years, Richard Jones will bring a wealth of experience to our team. His skills and expertise will be huge assets as we aim to grow MotoNovo.”
