Margins stay strong

Sales and demand continue to be buoyant for used motorcycles across the board, although the classic and adventure markets are particularly strong.

Although stock availability remains a challenge, there are tentative signs of an improvement with increasing numbers of dealers saying they are satisfied with their current levels. Despite this, some dealers remain short of stock for the time of year, and are reporting that they are finding purchasing more difficult as a result of inflated trade prices across all supply channels. On the upside, profit margins remain strong, with little or no discounting taking place.

As spring progresses, we can look forward to some warmer weather and more pleasant riding conditions, encouraging bikers to consider changing their machines for a newer or different model. Therefore, Glass’s expects market prices to remain strong across all segments in the coming weeks.
