NMC calls for broader approach

The NMC has released a new policy statement outlining its position regarding the future of motorcycling and its role in reducing CO2 emissions. The policy accepts that small battery-powered two-wheelers will play their part, especially in urban areas, but it wants other emerging technologies such as synthetic fuels and hydrogen, to be part of UK government policy planning. The NMC is also calling for an end to an arbitrary cut-off date for the sale and production of petrol-powered motorbikes, as well as demanding that current and historical bikes are still permitted on the roads, and that supplies of hydrocarbon fuels will be guaranteed in future.
