Segway launches new scooter range

It’s still probably best known for its wacky two-wheeled self-balancing scooters. But the Segway brand has been branching out of late, producing more conventional electric kick scooters, ATVs, side-by-sides and step-through battery-powered two-wheelers. And it’s just about to enter the burgeoning UK EV market, with three new E-mopeds and scooters.

The B110S, E110S and E125S feature lightweight design and removable batteries, plus Airlock app-controlled security, tracking, locking and location info. The scooters also have a clever seat sensor so that they can’t accidentally set off if the throttle is tweaked without a rider on the seat – a more common problem with silent electric bikes than on conventional petrol machines, where it’s obvious the powertrain is active. They can all achieve ranges of up to 100 miles, with 3kW maximum power outputs.

Dualways will distribute the new Segway electric vehicles in the UK, suggested retail prices should be around £2200 to £3500, and the models will be available next month. For dealer opportunities and detailed model information, contact Henry Maplethorpe on 07947 246724 or [email protected].
