Raiders smash into Ducati dealership and steal bikes

Ducati Manchester has said it will be investing in improved security after a gang of at least five smashed its way into the showroom on Easter Monday and stole two SuperSport machines.

The raid occurred in the early hours of the holiday Monday when the gang used a sledgehammer to smash the showroom window and fan out, military-style, to complete the whole carefully planned operation in just 17 seconds. The theft occurred despite the bikes being chained together, the presence of CCTV and the activation of a smoke device intended to disorientate the criminals.

One of the two stolen machines was registered – MK17 ZKH – and had a vin number ending in 000752, while the other SuperSport was unregistered and had a vin ending in 000663. Both were red and neither had keys.

“This caused heartache and a long night for all at our store,” a statement said on Facebook. “They were in and out in 17 seconds. The bikes were chained together and the fog bandit system activated. We will now invest in more improved security. Two supersports were stolen and some clothing.

“Keep your bikes locked up as your just see how quickly this scum work.”
