Specialist warranty from WMS Group

WMS is one of the biggest providers of car aftersales warranties in the UK. And now it’s expanding its motorcycle warranty range, as part of its Safe & Sound product range.

The revamped bike warranty scheme has been developed alongside the appointment of a specialist motorcycle account manager, Kerry Whitaker, who’s an established expert in motorcycle warranty products.

“Bike dealers work very differently from car dealers,” said Whitaker. “I’ve spent a long time in my career really understanding what they need and want from warranty solutions. I am delighted therefore that we are able to launch our enhanced motorcycle warranty product that directly responds to dealers’ needs and provides customers with an added layer of protection, including specialist recovery.”

The new WMS motorcycle warranty product claims to represent the UK’s highest level of motorcycle cover, and promises recovery, easy claims process, unlimited claims, parts and labour throughout the cover period (up to the current market value of the motorcycle) plus fast, high-quality repairs through the firm’s nationwide repairer network.

Neil Monks, retail sales and customer services director for WMS parent firm Opteven UK, said: “Warranty products can offer an additional revenue opportunity for dealers that provides a whole wealth of benefits and enhancements to customers. Our new and competitive motorcycle warranty product does exactly that, and we’re thrilled to be able to launch this to market ahead of motorcycle dealers’ peak season in the spring, with a view of being able to support them to create an off-peak revenue stream all year round.

“Our motorcycle product is one of the first specialist products to launch under our Safe & Sound suite of services and we look forward to continuing to work with the sector to develop even more market-leading solutions as we create the best warranty products on the market.”

Talent Sponsorship
WMS is sponsoring Honda British Talent Cup rider, Charlie Huntingford, in partnership with Suffolk dealer, Mototechniks. Huntingford, 13, is moving up to the Honda Talent Cup after competing last season on a Metrakit GP70 in the FAB championship and setting a lap record at Lydden Hill.

The Talent Cup runs with Honda NSF250R Moto3 machinery, as a support class at selected BSB rounds and the British MotoGP round. It’s part of Dorna’s Road to MotoGP program – meaning Huntingford could be a name to watch out for in the future.
