thieves strike for third time in a week

Thieves have struck the trade for the third time in a week. A van belonging to 250London and parked at a hotel near to the Dirt Bike Show was broken into and a variety of motocross clothing was taken.

250London is run by clothing designer Adam Waite, an ex-motocross racer who also owns a London-based menswear store.

The other half of 250 is Jennifer Johnston, Waite’s wife and ex-cross-country MTB racer.

“We were shocked to discover that our stock had been stolen from our van in the early hours of Saturday, 28 October, while it was parked at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwick,” said Johnston.

“It was clearly a professional gang. They had cut the lock from the back door to gain entry and had emptied the boxes of stock, which included race jerseys, MX pants and various T-shirt and caps, leaving the empty boxes behind.

“There were many business targeted over the few days of the Dirt Bike Show – we certainly weren’t the only ones, but it has hit us quite hard because we are a small, niche brand, trying to grow our business and we can’t do that without our products!

“Fortunately, we still had some stock stashed in our stand at the show, the stock in the van was overspill which we didn’t have storage for at the venue.”

Johnston said 250London products were very distinctive and would probably be hard to sell on, especially given the level of exposure the theft has generated.

“We would ask people to look out for anyone daft enough to try to sell the stock in stores, market stalls, car boot sales or eBay and please to alert us.

“We have been overwhelmed by all the support shown to us from the industry and beyond and would be delighted to see the return of our products but would be even happier to see the culprits caught!”
