Vic Barnes

Recently retired professional photographer and writer Vic Barnes has died. Vic, who was 38 years in the profession, 13 of those working for agencies in Fleet Street, specialised in the motorcycle industry, glamour and celebrity studio photography and interviews.

Between 1991 and 2011 he shot models on bikes to feature in the Crossbow Calendar (models on bikes).

Although he worked for many industry companies from the late 1960s through to the 2000s, his main interest was always motorcycles. He was a dedicated motorcyclist and would commute to assignments on his trusty BWW, with a complete photo studio in his top box and panniers, much to the amazement of his many clients. In latter year’s he also ran motorcycle tours of Scotland, in addition to his photographic work.

Vic Barnes’ funeral will take place on Friday 3 March at 2pm at Woodlands Crematorium, 1 Brumby Wood Lane, Scunthorpe DN17 1SP.
