POOR SHOW FROM ARCTIC CAT

Results for US powersports manufacturer Arctic Cat’s second quarter of its current financial year to 30 September are a dismal read.

Despite a slight 1.7% improvement in ATV sales, that wasn’t enough to offset snowmobile numbers falling by 30.3% and a decline in parts, apparel and accessories. Total revenue for the three-month period fell by 19.6% to £137.1m. Net profit plunged by 27.3% to £7.3m.

However, Arctic Cat chief executive Christopher Metz said the company’s non-current ATV dealer inventory reduction plan remains on course, allowing the introduction of new models, which should bring a return to growth in 2016.
